Description: FTO (Fat mass-and obesity-associated gene) is the responsible gene for mouse 'fused toes' mutation. An association between FTO genotype and type 2 diabetes has been confirmed. The presence of the FTO rs9939609 A-allele was found to be positively correlated with other symptoms of the metabolic syndrome, including higher fasting insulin, glucose, triglycerides, and lower HDL-cholesterol.

Catalog Number: (102514-174)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: CD137 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor family. CD137 is expressed by activated T cells, dendritic cells, NK cells, granulocytes and cells of blood vessel walls at sites of inflammation. CD137 has costimulatory activity for activated T cells. Crosslinking of CD137 enhances T cell proliferation, IL-2 secretion survival and cytolytic activity. CD137 was shown to enhance immune activity to eliminate tumors in mice.

Catalog Number: (102511-340)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: CD279 (Programmed Cell Death Protein 1; PD-1) is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the CD28/CTLA-4 family of immunoreceptors that mediate signals for regulating immune responses. Members of the CD28/CTLA-4 family have been shown to either promote T cell activation (CD28 and ICOS) or downregulate T cell activation (CTLA-4 and PD-1). CD279 is expressed on activated T cells, B cells, myeloid cells and on a subset of thymocytes. In vitro, ligation of CD279 inhibits TCR-mediated T cell proliferation and production of IL-1, IL-4, IL-10 and IFN-gamma. In addition, CD279 ligation also inhibits BCR mediated signaling. CD279 deficient mice have a defect in peripheral tolerance and spontaneously develop autoimmune diseases.

Catalog Number: (102511-398)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: TRAIL-R2 is a receptor for the cytotoxic ligand TRAIL. The adapter molecule FADD recruits caspase-8 to the activated receptor. The resulting death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) performs caspase-8 proteolytic activation which initiates the subsequent cascade of caspases (aspartate-specific cysteine proteases) mediating apoptosis. Promotes the activation of NF-kappaB.

Supplier: Adipogen
Description: Neutrophils are key components of the inflammatory response and as such contribute to the killing of microorganisms. In addition, recent evidence suggests their involvement in the development of the immune response. The Nimp-R14 mAb displays features of an optimal reagent allowing the selective depletion of mouse neutrophils in vivo.

Catalog Number: (102511-430)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: Negative control in assays where mouse IgG2a (ATTO 488)-labeled antibodies are used.

Catalog Number: (102514-616)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: CTRP5 (C1qTNF-related protein 5; C1QTNF5) belongs to a highly conserved family of adiponectin paralogs. CTRP5 mediates activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in muscle and liver cells, thereby regulating glucose and lipid metabolism. Serum levels of CTRP5 are significantly higher in obese/diabetic animal models compared to normal controls. Furthermore, CTRP5 may be a putative biomarker for mitochondrial dysfunction. Defects in C1QTNF5 are a cause of late-onset retinal degeneration (LORD).

Catalog Number: (102514-594)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: Progranulin (PGRN) is a widely expressed pluripotent growth factor which plays a role in processes such as development, wound repair and inflammation by activating signaling cascades that control cell cycle progression and cell motility. Its function in the central nervous system is of interest, as mutations in the PGRN gene were found in cases of frontotemporal degeneration (FTLD). In addition, PGRN has also been linked to tumorigenesis. Progranulin is a biomarker for FTLD, other types of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and potentially for MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment). Additionally, PGRN is described as a new ligand of TNF receptors and a potential therapeutic against inflammatory disease like arthritis.

Catalog Number: (102514-582)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: Lipocalin-2 is an iron-trafficking protein involved in multiple processes such as apoptosis, innate immunity and renal development.

Catalog Number: (102514-574)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: Sirtuin-2 is a NAD-dependent protein deacetylase, which deacetylates the 'Lys-40' of a-tubulin. It is involved in the control of mitotic exit in the cell cycle. Furthermore, a variety of age-associated diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's disease are associated with sirtuins. Selective inhibition of Sirtuin-2 achieves neuroprotection and identifies Sirtuin-2 to be a potential therapeutic avenue in Huntington's and Parkinson's disease.

Catalog Number: (102514-522)
Supplier: Adipogen
Description: The ST2 gene was originally identified as a gene induced by serum or oncogene expression in fibroblasts. The gene produces a shorter soluble secreted form (ST2) and a longer, transmembrane form (ST2L) by alternative splicing. Soluble ST2 has been shown to downregulate the expression of TLR1 and TLR4. ST2L negatively regulates TLR4 signaling and induces endotoxin tolerance, and enhances Th2 responses. IL-33 is the specific ligand for ST2L.
