Description: Human CD152 (CTLA-4) is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed at low levels on activated T cells. CD152 is a high affinity receptor for the costimulatory molecules CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) and appears to function as a negative regulator of T cell activation. This product is a soluble fusion protein combining the extracellular (125aa) domain of human CD152 and murine IgG2a Fc (CTLA-4 Ig).

Description: Mouse vascular endothelial growth factor 164 (VEGF 164) is produced as a homodimer. It binds to the FLT1/VEGFR1 and KDR/VEGFR2 receptors, heparan sulfate and heparin. It is a specific mitogen for vascular endothelial cells and a strong angiogenic factor in vivo. In addition to its action as a mitogen it is a potent vascular permeability factor (VPF) in vivo and is also a chemoattractant for monocytes and endothelial cells. It induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis and induces permeabilization of blood vessels. It may play a role in increasing vascular permeability during lactation, when increased transport of molecules from the blood is required for efficient milk protein synthesis.

Description: N-Hexadecanoyl-DL-homoserine lactone (C16-HSL) is a small diffusible signaling molecule and is a member of N-acyl-homoserine lactone family. N-acylhomoserine lactones (AHL) are involved in quorum sensing, controlling gene expression, and cellular metabolism. C16-HSL is a lipophilic, long acyl side-chain bearing AHL, produced by the LuxI AHL synthase homolog SinI involved in quorum-sensing signaling in S. meliloti, a nitrogen-fixing bacterial symbiont of certain legumes. C16-HSL is the most abundant AHL produced by the proteobacterium R. capsulatus and activates genetic exchange between R. capsulatus cells. It tends to localize in relatively lipophilic cellular environments of bacteria and cannot diffuse freely through the cell membrane. The long-chain N-acylhomoserine lactones may be exported from cells by efflux pumps or may be transported between communicating cells by extracellular outer membrane vesicles.

Description: DR6 is an orphan TNF receptor superfamily member belonging to a subgroup of receptors called death receptors. Expressed ubiquitously with high expression in lymphoid organs, heart, brain, and pancreas. Broadly expressed by developing neurons where it functions as pro-apoptotic factor. Recently, it has been reported that interaction with the beta-amyloid precursor protein (APP) activates a widespread caspase-dependent self-destruction program dependent on caspase-6.

Description: N,N-dimethyl-6-propionyl-2-naphthylamine (prodan) has both an electron-donor and an electron-acceptor substituent, resulting in a large excited-state dipole moment and extensive solvent polarity-dependent fluorescence shifts. When prodan is incorporated into membranes, their fluorescence spectra are sensitive to the physical state of the surrounding phospholipids. In membranes, prodan appears to localize at the surface, although Fourier transform infrared measurements indicate some degree of penetration into the lipid interior. Excited-state relaxation of prodan is sensitive to the nature of the linkage between phospholipid hydrocarbon tails and the glycerol backbone. Tubulin and its hydrophobic surfaces have been probed with the enviroment-sensitive probes prodan. Prodan is also used for the generation of peroxy-oxalate chemiluminescence with H2O2.

Description: Cytotoxic against tumor cell lines. Induces necrosis and apoptosis in cancer cells. Shows anti-platelet aggregation activity possibly by inhibition of cyclooxgenase activity and a decrease in thromboxane A2 formation. Shows significant anxiolytic and antidepressant activities. Promotes adipogenesis of 3T3-L1 cells. Induces in vivo and in vitro mutagenicity in eukaryotic models. Selectively kills cancer cells by targeting the stress response to ROS. Shows in vitro schistosomicidal activity.

Description: SGX523 is an ATP-competitive, triazolopyridazine-based inhibitor of MET at an IC(50) of 4nM. SGX523 has higher affinity for the unphosphorylated form of MET (Ki = 2.7nM) than the more active phospho-enzyme (Ki = 23nM). In a broad panel of 213 kinases, SGX523 was extremely selective, with no inhibition >36%, suggesting IC(50) values > 1µM, including the closely-associated RON kinase.
