Description: In the chicken the CD8 molecule is present in two forms - (i) a homodimer of two α chains and (ii) a heterodimer of an α chain and a β chain. Chicken CD8 is expressed on approximately 80% of thymocytes, 45% of blood mononuclear cells, and 50% of spleen cells but less than 1% of cells in the bursa and bone marrow. While the vast majority of CD8+ cells in the thymus, spleen, and blood of adult chickens express both CD8α- and CD8β-chains, a relatively large proportion of the CD8+ TCRγδ cells in the spleens of embryos and young chicks express only the α-chain of CD8. Among intestinal epithelial lymphocytes, the major CD8+ T cell populations present in mice are conserved but there is a population of TCRγδ CD8αβ cells in the chicken that is not found in rodents. The monoclonal antibody 3-298 recognizes the CD8α chain of both the chicken and turkey.

Description: CD44, also known as phagocytic glycoprotein-1 (Pgp-1), exists as a large number of different isoforms resulting from alternative RNA splicing. The major isoform expressed on lymphocytes, myeloid cells, and erythrocytes is a glycosylated type I transmembrane protein. Other variable isoforms containing glycosaminoglycans have molecular weights ranging from 110 to 250 kDa and are widely expressed on hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells. CD44 contributes to the adhesion of leukocytes to endothelial cells, stromal cells, and the extracellular matrix. It also plays a functional role in cell migration, lymphocyte homing, and adhesion during hematopoiesis and lymphocyte activation.

Catalog Number: (100245-392)
Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: Feline CD8, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein that is expressed as a heterodimer on the suppressor/cytotoxic subpopulation of peripheral T lymphocytes. It is present on approximately 76% of thymocytes, 14% of splenocytes, 1% of bone marrow cells, and 15% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. CD8 functions as a co-receptor with MHC Class I-restricted T cell receptors in antigen recognition.

Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: CD19 is a monomeric transmembrane glycoprotein expressed at relatively constant levels throughout B cell development from early pro-B/pre-B cells (i.e. B220+/CD43+/HSA+) through fully differentiated B cell stages. Terminally differentiated plasma cells do not express CD19. In humans, the CD19 molecule on the surface of mature B cells associates with CD21 (CR-2) and CD81 (TAPA-1), and this multimolecular complex synergizes with surface immunoglobulin to provide signal transduction and promote cellular activation. All splenic and peritoneal IgM+ cells of both B-1 and B-2 lineages are CD19+, with B-1 cells expressing higher levels of CD19 than B-2 cells in these sites. Studies with CD19-deficient mice have suggested that this molecule may not be required for normal generation and maturation of B cells in the bone marrow. The monoclonal antibody 6D5 recognizes the same epitope as the published clone, 1D3.

Description: CD105, also known as endoglin, is a disulfide-linked type II transmembrane homodimer that is predominantly expressed on vascular endothelial cells. It is also found on pre-erythroblasts, macrophages, and lymphoid and myeloid leukemic cells. Both mouse and human CD105 exhibit >70% sequence homology in their cytoplasmic domains with type III transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) receptor. CD105 has been shown to be one of several receptors for the various isoforms of TGFβ which in turn is one of a family of proteins involved in regulation of cell differentiation, migration of cells, and control of the immune response.

Description: The lymphocyte Fcγ receptors recognize the Fc portion of IgG, presented either as immune complexes or as free antibody. The different classes of receptors are distinct because of varying size, tissue distribution and affinity for IgGs. The Fc type II receptor is expressed on a wide variety of cells including B cells, hematopoietic cells, monocyte/macrophages, neutrophils, platelets, Langerhans cells, eosinophils, basophils, trophoblasts, and endothelial cells of the placenta. The Fcγ type III receptors are higher affinity than the type II and are expressed on macrophages, NK cells and neutrophils. Both types of receptors can be expressed on the same cell and in varying ratios. The receptors are constitutively expressed, although cytokines and lymphokines can modulate their expression. Besides identifying FcγR+ cells, monoclonal antibodies to the FcγII/III receptor have been used to block Fc receptor binding of IgG, Fc-mediated signal transduction and effector functions, clearance of immune complexes and to attenuate infection by organisms dependent on FcγR for parasitic invasion. The monoclonal antibody 93 recognizes a conformational epitope formed by FcγII and FcγIII receptors.

Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: CD24, also known as heat stable antigen, is a phosphatidylinositol-linked cell surface glycoprotein that is expressed at all stages of B cell development and on most thymocytes. The absence of expression from mature T cells is closely associated with their maturation from CD4+CD8+CD24+ thymocytes to either CD4+CD8-CD24- or CD4-CD8+CD24- T cells. CD24 is also present on mouse granulocytes, monocytes, Langerhans cells and erythrocytes. Its ligand is P-selectin (CD62P). CD24 may play a role in regulation of B cell proliferation and differentiation, and it has been proposed that heat stable antigen promotes homotypic adhesion between B lymphocytes.

Description: Goat F(ab')2 Anti-Human IgM-Biotin antibody for use in ELISA, flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, and ELISpot assays.

Catalog Number: (100243-768)
Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: The αβ TCR is expressed on T lymphocytes of all mouse strains tested. The H57-597 monoclonal antibody does not react with γδ TCR-bearing cells. Plate-bound or soluble H57-597 activates αβ TCR-bearing T cells. In vitro and in vivo, H57-597 can induce immature thymocytes to undergo apoptosis. In vivo administration of H57-597 has been shown to deplete αβ TCR-bearing cells to near completion and prevent graft rejection.
