Description: CD3ε, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, is comprised of five invariable chains ranging in size from 16-28 kDa and is closely associated with the T cell antigen receptor (TCR). CD3ε is expressed on all T cells of all mouse strains. CD3 plays a major role in signaling during antigen recognition, leading to T-cell activation. 500-A2 recognizes an epitope on the 25 kDa ε chain of the CD3/TCR complex of mouse strains tested.

Description: CD13, also known as aminopeptidase N, is a 150 kDa type II integral membrane glycoprotein. It is expressed on granulocytes, monocytes and their precursors, and on mast cells. CD13 is a zinc-binding metalloprotease that is involved in cell surface antigen presentation via its digestion of many MHC-bound regulatory peptides.

Catalog Number: (101442-890)
Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: c-Kit is a 145 kDa transmembrane receptor-type protein tyrosine kinase encoded by the c-Kit proto-oncogene and is the receptor for stem cell factor (SCF). c-Kit acts to regulate a variety of biological responses including cell proliferation, apoptosis, chemotaxis, and adhesion. The amino acid sequence of chicken c-kit shows 63% identity to mouse c-Kit and exhibits similar expression patterns in RNA blot analysis suggesting similar biological roles.

Catalog Number: (101442-922)
Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: CD49b, a member of the integrin family of extracellular matrix and cell adhesion molecules, is the integrin α2 chain. CD49b associates noncovalently with CD29, the integrin β1 subunit, to form the heterodimer integrin α2β1 that binds laminin and collagen. It is expressed on B and T lymphocytes, NK cells, monocytes, platelets, fibroblasts, and long-term cultured T cells. CD49b/CD29 mediates the Mg++-dependent adhesion of platelets to collagen. It may also be utilized by fibroblasts for the reorganization of the collagen matrix during wound healing.

Description: In the mouse, CD8 exists in two forms – (i) a CD8 heterodimer composed of an α chain (CD8α) and a β chain (CD8β); and (ii) a homodimer of two α chains. The heterodimer is found on the surface of essentially all thymocytes and the “suppressor/cytotoxic” subpopulation of mature T lymphocytes. Subsets of intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes express CD8α without CD8β. It has been suggested that CD8+β- T cells mature extrathymically, while development of the CD8α+β+ population of T cells is thymus-dependent. CD8 acts as a coreceptor with MHC Class I-restricted T cell receptors in antigen recognition and positive selection of MHC class I-restricted CD8+ T cells. In vivo and in vitro treatment with the 53-6.7 monoclonal antibody effectively depletes CD8α+ cells. The 53-6.7 monoclonal antibody also blocks allogeneic help specific for class I MHC antigens and T cell responses to IL-2.

Catalog Number: (100243-818)
Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: The CD45 antigen is an essential regulator of leukocyte activation and development and is now known to be a protein tyrosine phosphatase, e.g., CD45 is able to dephosporylate the Src family of protein kinases. This activity is known to be required for signal transduction induced by T and B cell antigen receptor engagement, cytokine signaling, and Fc receptor stimulation. The functional state of CD45 also has a pronounced effect on lymphocyte development. CD45 exists in multiple forms, such as the restricted variants (CD45R; see companion products 1660, 1665, 1675, 1685 and 1820) and as allelic forms CD45.1 (Ly-5.1) and CD45.2 (Ly-5.2). The specificity of antibodies to CD45.1 and CD45.2 has been exploited in studies where resolution of donor and recipient cells is essential, such as in gene therapy or bone marrow transplantation. The monoclonal antibody 104 recognizes CD45 (leukocyte common antigen) on all leukocytes of mouse strains expressing the CD45.2 allotype (e.g., A, AKR, BALB/c, CBA/Ca, CBA/J, C3H/He, C57BL, C57BR, C57L, C58, DBA/1, DBA/2, NZB, SWR, 129).

The former arises as a result of alternative splicing of different exons. The specificity of antibodies to CD45.1 and CD45.2 has been exploited in studies where resolution of donor and recipient cells is essential, such as in gene therapy or bone marrow transplantation. The monoclonal antibody A20 recognizes all mouse leukocytes expressing the CD45.1 allotype.
