Description: VAMP7 is a member of the soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE) family, localizing to late endosomes and lysosomes. VAMP7 is thought to mediate the fusion of endosomes to their target lysosomes as well as other exocytosis events during phagocytosis and neuritogenesis. VAMP7 interacts with the VPS9 ankyrin repeat protein VARP, a protein that localizes to early endosomes and thought to regulate endosome dynamics. Together with CD82, VAMP7 can modulate the signaling of EGFR by regulating its endocytosis from the plasma membrane.

Description: Voltage-dependent anion-selective channel protein 1 (also known as VDAC, VDAC1 or outer mitochondrial membrane protein porin 1) is the the outer mitochondrial membrane receptor for hexokinase and BCL2L1. VDAC forms a channel through the mitochondrial membrane and is involved in small molecule diffusion, cell volume regulation and apoptosis. VDAC may participate in the formation of the permeability transition pore complex (PTPC), which is responsible for the release of mitochondrial products that triggers apoptosis. Anti-VDAC1 is ideal for research in Cell Biology and Apoptosis.

Description: VGF antibody detects human VGF. VGF was initially identified as a rapidly regulated gene product in nerve growth factor-treated PC12 cells. This protein is synthesized in neurons in the central and peripheral nervous system as well as in the pituitary, adrenal medulla, endocrine cells of the stomach, and pancreatic beta cells. VGF is thought to be involved in organism energy balance and regulation of homeostasis as mice lacking this gene show deficits in these areas. More recent results suggest that VGF is upregulated by brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and can stimulate the proliferation of hippocampal progenitor cells and produce antidepressant-like behavioral effects, suggesting that this pathway may be a suitable target for therapeutic treatments. Anti-VGF antibodies are ideal for investigators involved in neuroscience and transcription factor research.

Description: The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) protein Unc93b, a human homolog of the C. elegans Unc93 gene, was initially identified by a forward genetic screen using N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea where a histidine-to-arginine substitution in Unc93b caused defects in Toll-like receptor (TLR) 3, 7 and 9 signaling. Unlike Unc93a, another homolog of the C. elegans Unc93 gene whose function is unknown, Unc93b specifically interacts with TLR3, 7 and 9; the histidine-to-arginine point mutation used to identify Unc93b abolishes this interaction. Mice carrying this point mutation are highly susceptible to infection with a number of viruses, indicating that Unc93b plays an important role in innate immunity.

Description: The human uracil-DNA glycosylase (UNG) gene encodes both mitochondrial (UNG1) and nuclear (UNG2) forms through differentially regulated promotes and alternative splicing. While UNG2 is the major enzyme in the base excision repair pathway that removes uracil residues from nuclear DNA that arise through either misincorporation during replication or cytosine deamination, inhibition of UNG1 by uracil glycosylase inhibitor did not lead to increased levels of spontaneous or induced mitochondrial DNA mutations. However, decreased levels of UNG activity and increased oxidative damage to mitochondrial DNA were seen in older mice, suggesting that mitochondrial DNA repair mechanisms may be involved in various neurodegenerative disorders in an age-dependent manner. This UNG1 antibody will not cross-react with UNG2.

Description: ULK1, also known as ATG1, is a key serine/threonine protein kinase probably acting at the most upstream step of autophagosome formation. Knockout of ULK1 results in a severe defect in the autophagy pathway. ULK1 is highly conserved among eukaryotes, and are the Unc-51-like kinases, ULK1 and ULK2 in mammals. ULK1 is ubiquitously expressed and involved in autophagy in response to starvation. It is the target of the TOR kinase signaling pathway that regulates autophagy through the control of phosphorylation status of ATG13. ULK1 also plays a role early in neuronal differentiation.

Description: ZIP11, also known as Slc39A11, is a member of the broader ZIP family of multi-transmembrane domain metal ion transporters. Zinc is an essential ion for cells and plays significant roles in the growth, development, and differentiation. Members of the ZIP family generally transport metal ions from the cell exterior or lumen of intracellular organelles into the cytoplasm, as opposed to the ZnT (SLC30) family of zinc transporters that serve to reduce intracellular zinc availability by promoting zinc efflux from cells or into intracellular vesicles. At least three isoforms of ZIP11 are known to exist.

Description: The zinc transporter ZIP13, also known as SLC39A13, is a member of a family of divalent ion transporters. Zinc is an essential ion for cells and plays significant roles in the growth, development, and differentiation. The zinc transporter family is divided into four subfamilies (I, II, LIV-1 and gufA). ZIP13 is a multipass membrane protein that belongs to the ZIP transporter subfamily LIV-1. Mutations in ZIP13 have recently been shown to cause a spondylocheiro dysplastic form of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (SCD-EDS), a generalized skeletal dysplasia involving mainly the spine with clinical abnormalities of the hands in addition to EDS-like features. Other experiments have shown that ZIP13 is required for proper connective tissue development and is involved in BMP/TGF- signaling pathways.

Description: The ZBTB family of proteins is comprised of diverse zinc finger proteins that also contain a BTB (BR-C, ttk and bab) domain. ZBTB8, also known as BOZ-F1, is present in multiple tissues, and is highly expressed in the cytoplasm of the placenta. While little is known about ZBTB8, other ZBTB proteins, such as ZBTB4 bind methylated DNA and repress transcription. Another ZBTB proteins, ZBTB7A, has been implicated as a proto-oncogene whose overexpression contributes to malignancy in breast cancer, suggesting that ZBTB8 may act as a transcriptional repressor or be involved in tumorigenesis.

Description: ZBTB4 is a KAISO like protein which binds to methylated DNA and regulates the transcription of methylated targets. Unlike KAISO, ZBTB4 is able to bind to single methylated CpG’s. ZBTB4 acts as a transcriptional repressor protein and has been shown to be downregulated in the advanced stage of different tumours. Anti-ZBTB4 Antibody is ideal for research in Epigenetics, Gene Expression and Cancer.

Description: MYCT1 was initially identified as a novel target of the c-Myc oncogene in myeloid cells. It is a widely expressed nuclear protein whose overexpression can promote apoptosis, alteration of morphology, enhancement of anchorage-independent cell growth, tumorigenic conversion, promotion of genomic instability, and inhibition of hematopoietic differentiation. MYCT1 binds to the promoters of several c-Myc-regulated genes and it has been suggested that the phenotypes seen in MYCT1-overexpressing cells are a result of the deregulation of these genes. RUNX1-ETO, a fusion protein made up of RUNX1 and ETO, is thought to deregulate the proliferation and responsiveness of human hematopoietic progenitor cells downstream of MYCT1.
