Description: Granzyme B is a cysteine protease found in the cytoplasmic granules of cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTL) and natural killer (NK) cells. Granzyme B is required for the induction of target cell lysis, which occurs as part of cell mediated immune responses, and can activate apoptosis in target cells by both caspase dependent and caspase independent mechanisms. Proteolytic cleavage of substrates by Granzyme B takes place primarily after aspartic acid residues. Recombinant murine Granzyme B is a glycosylated 227 amino acid protein, comprising the mature active portion of the murine Granzyme B precursor. The apparent molecular weight is 28.9 kDa by mass spectrometry.

Description: Proteins of this family play an important role in inducing non-specific resistance against a broad range of viral infections. They also affect cell proliferation and modulate immune responses. Produced by peripheral blood leukocytes and lymphoblastoid cells, IFNα is an acid stable molecule that signals through IFNα/βR, which is also used by IFNβ. Both IFNs have similar anti-viral activity and regulate expression of MHC class I antigens. IFNα contains four highly conserved cysteine residues which form two disulfide bonds, one of which is necessary for biological activity. Recombinant human IFNβ is an 20.0 kDa protein containing 166 amino acid residues. Due to glycosylation, IFNβ has an approximate MW of 22.3 kDa based on SDS-PAGE gel and Mass Spectrometry.

Description: α-Terpineol is a monoterpene alcohol. It is one of the components responsible for the antifungal activity in Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) essential oil.[1] The reaction rate constant of α-terpineol with the OH radical and ozone was found to be (1.9±0.5)×10-10cm3 molecule-1s-1 and (3.0±0.2)×10-16cm3 molecule-1s-1, respectively.Application:α-Terpineol has been used as a reference standard for the identification of α-terpineol in tequila by solid phase microextraction (SPME) and capillary gas chromatography−mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and in virgin olive oil samples by headspace SPME followed by GC-MS equipped with flame ionization detector (FID).It may be used as a reference standard for the analysis of α-terpineol as trace volatile compound in wine by solid-phase extraction (SPE) followed by GC-MS and in essential oils and related compounds from aromatic plants by SPME and GC-MS.α-Terpineol may be used in the synthesis of α-terpinyl esters of acetic acid and acetic anhydride via lipase-mediated esterification.

Description: Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a large family of endopeptidases. Collectively, MMPs can degrade all kinds of extracellular matrix proteins, and can also process a number of bioactive molecules. They are known to be involved in the cleavage of cell surface receptors, the release of apoptotic ligands, and chemokine/cytokine inactivation. MMPs are also thought to play a major role in cell behaviors such as cell proliferation, migration (adhesion/dispersion), differentiation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and host defense.
This peptide is an exceptional MMP-2 (gelatinase A) and MMP-9 (gelatinase B) substrate: this peptide is used for the continuous spectrophotometric assay of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in combination with a color-developing thiol-reactive agent, 4,4’-dithiodipyridine or Ellman’s Reagent (as indicators). This thiol peptide-enzyme reaction has a Km of 0.004 M and a kcat of 103 s-1. Using this substrate, collagenase can be detected at concentrations as low as 2 ng/mL. HPLC and tandem mass spectrometry are also used to analyze MMP-2 and MMP-9 in conjunction with this peptide substrate.
