OxyPlates™ are made with the unique OxyDish™ plate design, and the use of the Oxyrase® Enzyme System

The Oxyrase® Enzyme System used in OxyPlates™ provides a reduced medium before sterilization and maintains the medium in a reduced state for storage and use. The Oxyrase® Enzyme System prevents the formation of undesirable oxidation products in these OxyPlates™. Growth of anaerobes on OxyPlates™ do not require anaerobic incubation in jars, bags, or chambers. The Oxyrase® Enzyme System allows the plates to be stored, opened, and used at room and cold temperatures while maintaining anaerobic conditions for anaerobic growth.

When subbing from an OxyPlate™, an OxyPlate™ may be opened whenever workable colonies are evident. To protect anaerobes growing on the agar surface from prolonged exposure to oxygen, always open the OxyPlate™ for short intervals of time. Due to the unique design of the OxyDish™, observation of the plate surface should be easily visible without needing to remove the lid. Types of OxyPlates™ available and their uses include; Schaedler Blood agar (OSCW): general media for various anaerobes. Kanamycin/Vancomycin Laked Blood Agar (OCDL): inhibitory.

The OxyDish™ is specially designed to create a seal that maintains anaerobiosis. The Oxyrase® Enzyme System is added to the agar media, removing oxygen from within the agar and from the confined head space above the agar surface. OxyPlates™ can be opened and closed several times and will still regenerate and maintain anaerobic conditions. These are sterile plates packed individually and ready for immediate use, without the need for jars, bags, and or chambers.

Certifications: Meets CLSI (M22-A3) Specifications, where applicable.

Ordering information: Oxyrase® Inc. guarantees 30 days of shelf life (for both RT and CT) from shipment date. If a longer shelf life is needed, this should be arranged at the time the order is placed (OxyPlates™ are shipped direct to customer.).
