Enclosures provide a controlled environment in which to perform polymerase chain reaction (PCR) procedures
Each hood features an angled sash to provide closer, more comfortable viewing than vertical sashes. The sash has a working sash height opening of 24cm (97/16") that pivots upward and locks to a loading height of 50.8cm (20"). Front-mounted blower and light switches are located within easy reach of the operator, and a front-mounted Minihelic® pressure gauge monitors differential pressure across the HEPA filter. Two utility ports allow passage of tubing and electrical cords through the back. An optional built-in Guardian™ airflow monitor continuously monitors airflow and alerts the user to velocities outside of the preset range through LED and alarm indicators. The variable speed blower with solid-state speed control maintains proper air velocities. A diffuser, located at the top of the work area, stabilizes the airflow through the work area and protects the surface of the HEPA filter from possible damage from apparatus inside the enclosure, while a rear exhaust grill minimizes air turbulence in the work area. A prefilter traps large particles to extend the life of the HEPA filter, which removes 99.99% of all particles >=0.3µm, and an aerodynamic airfoil allows filtered air to sweep the work surface, keeping particle counts in the work area at ISO Class 5 (FED-STD-209E Class 100/M3.5) conditions.
Tempered safety glass sash and side panels provide a naturally illuminated work area. A fluorescent light is located outside of work space for easy access, and the UV light, with a variable digital timer provides continuous or timed UV light exposure in intervals of 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 120, and 240 minutes to deactivate DNA and RNA contaminants and to ensure thorough decontamination while the cabinet is unattended. An amber LED indicator blinks for the duration of the setting, and a UV protection panel allow the sash opening to be closed while the UV light is on. The doors also prevent contaminants from entering the bench when it is not in use.
Base stands (not included) are made of durable 4.4cm (13/4") thick, tubular, glacier white epoxy-coated steel. They have an adjustable height from 69.9–85.1cm (271/2–331/2") in 2.5cm (1") increments. Stands with fixed feet come with leveling feet for use on uneven floor surfaces. Stands with casters feature 12.7cm (5") diameter toe-locking casters with bearings for quiet operation. The accessory shelf for telescoping base stand hooks on the lower rear horizontal cross member of the stand and provides space for miscellaneous accessories and apparatus. Hydraulic stand height is infinitely adjustable from 64.8–85.1cm (251/2–331/2"). Height adjustments can be made any time on hydraulic stands. The caster kit adds mobility to the hydraulic lift base stand. An optional work surface is available with raised edges to contain spills.
Warning: Purifier® PCR enclosures are not biological safety cabinets. They do not provide protection for the user and, therefore, are not suitable for biohazardous materials or toxic procedures.
The enclosure frame, top, back, airfoil, and interior upper panel are constructed of epoxy-coated steel and aluminum, and the optional work surface has raised edges to contain spills
Certifications: The 115V enclosures are ETL and ETL-C listed with CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1 conformity. The 230V models are CE marked.
Ordering information: Manufacturer’s one-year warranty on parts and labor. All models include a prefilter and HEPA filter. The 115V enclosures include a 2.9m (91/2') three-wire cord with plug. The 230V enclosures do not include a plug. Base stand and work surface (recommended for operation) are not included. An interlocked UV Protection Panel replaced the bi-fold doors.
