polyproLABS® Fume Hoods, Air Control
Fume Hoods and Enclosures Laminar Flow Cabinets
Polypropylene fume hoods are designed for full operator protection and continuous, easy access to the hood interior

Hoods feature fluorescent lighting contained in fume-tight compartments with translucent polypropylene windows. Laminar-flow hoods use lighting designed not to disrupt the movement of clean air. Lighting provides greater than 100 candlepower and is factory prewired to NEC and NFRA code. A vertical safety sash provides a full view and is counterbalanced by two plastic-coated cables. Sash moves easily and closes to within 2.5cm (1") of work surface. Hoods feature an air bypass located at the upper front interior of the hood that opens as the sash is lowered, providing a near-constant exhaust volume. Pressure drop across the fume hood exhaust system is less than 0.5in.H2O at 100cfm.

All-polypropylene cabinetry has a flush surface design and features all-polypropylene hinges, screws, handles, and other hardware. Doors are solid polypropylene with smooth beveled edges. Cabinets have leakproof floors to contain spills of corrosive substances.

Non-rusting hoods are specifically suited for the most corrosive environments. Hoods are manufactured with no exposed metals and are constructed with 1cm (3/8") thick stress-relieved, acid-resistant white polypropylene. All joints are thermally welded to ensure strong, leakproof, flush unions. The work surface is constructed of 2.5cm (1") thick polypropylene and features a front lip to contain spills. Each hood contains an internal baffle system also constructed of polypropylene. Baffle system provides safe and efficient removal of fumes when the hood is properly connected to a preexisting exhaust system. A manual adjustment is provided on the baffle system to allow the operator to adjust the negative pressure in the hood environment. Hoods have exhausts located across and above the work surface, both with adjustable louvered shutters. Units have a top-mounted round exhaust duct collar.

Ordering information: Tabletop fume hoods do not require a base; a base must be provided for all other cabinets listed. Various accessories are available (see 89008-204 series). Other options including various thicknesses of polypropylene, rectangular exhaust duct connections, exhaust failure alarms, and custom fitting to some other polyproLABS base cabinets (see 89008-376 series) are available.
