Peripheral blood cells are collected from healthy donors by direct collection or by using the Spectra Optia® Apheresis system. Cell-rich leukapheresis product is extracted using continuous flow centrifugal technology directly into the collection bag.
Purification, isolation, and cryopreservation of cells are performed on-site immediately following collection utilizing best-in-class instruments, biopreservation media, and standardized protocols. The rigorous operational controls mitigate any potential loss while ensuring viable and functional cells post-thaw, guaranteeing that customers receive consistent high-quality cells.
Cryopreserved leukopaks: Mononuclear cell-rich leukapheresis products are extracted using continuous flow centrifugal technology (Spectra Optia® apheresis system) directly into a sterile collection bag containing ACD-A anticoagulant. All leukopaks are collected under strict SOPs at FDA-registered donor centers. In addition to standard collections, the donor center team can recruit donors with specific characteristics, or disease states, to meet specific needs.
Cryopreserved leukopaks include the HemaFlex™ and HemaPrime™ products. A consistent manufacturing process between HemaPrime and GMP-compliant products (CliniPrime™ and GMPrime™) allows users to easily transition from RUO to the clinic. HemaFlex™ Cryopreserved leukopaks provide the same level of quality as HemaPrime™ while an alternative manufacturing process provides a more cost-effective product.
