For storage in mechanical and vapor-phase liquid nitrogen freezers, at temperatures from –196 to 121 °C (–321 to 250 °F).
- White marking area, fill line, and graduations are printed on the side
- Large inner diameter for convenient filling
- Vials and closures are preassembled and radiation-sterilized
- Self-standing
A sealing ring, in conjunction with specially designed threads, permits secure closure in approximately 2¹/₂ turns. Externally threaded vials and deep-skirted closures allow single-handed aseptic technique without exposing fingers to vial contents.
Standard vials are made of polypropylene with polyethylene closures. SYSTEM 100™ vials are made of polypropylene with silicone gasketed polypropylene closures, which ensure leakproof performance in a microcentrifuge (up to 8000 g) and during shipment.
Bar codes make these vials ideal for automated data collection, sample inventory, or to mask the identity of samples. Code 128-numeric bar code is printed in black on white background. Vials are guaranteed to have no duplicate numbers. Human readable information is printed below the bar code. Bar codes are resistant to isopropyl alcohol, 100% butanol, 10 to 20% DMSO, 5% bleach, 10% acetic acid, 10% hydrochloric acid, and 10% NaOH.
