The KingFisher™ Flex series enables highly versatile, automated magnetic particle processing for DNA, RNA, protein, or cell purification from a wide array of sources, including blood, cell cultures, tissue lysates, soil, and feces.
Thermo Scientific microtiter deep well plates, KingFisher™ 96 KF plates, and KingFisher Flex 24 deep well plates are all specifically designed for the KingFisher™ Flex instruments.
These plates are designed to enable efficient processing and mixing of magnetic particles, and will significantly improve both the yield and quality of isolated DNA/RNA. In addition, fully skirted, rigid PCR plates can be used. All models are supplied with BindIt software, which offers predefined protocols as well as the ability to create custom protocols for special applications.
The software enables users to interface with liquid handling, robotics, and plate stacking instruments for a fully automated solution and the highest throughput for research, biotech, pharmaceutical, and quality control laboratories.
The incorporation of magnetic heads for both 96- and 24-well plates provides increased flexibility and throughput while guaranteeing sample integrity. The 24-well plate format allows users to raise the processing volume up to 5 ml, resulting in increased yield of the purified product. For higher throughput needs, 96 samples can be processed with the 96-well plate format in under 15 minutes. The innovative transfer of magnetic particles, rather than liquids, ensures a rapid, robust, and reproducible purification process.
