3D Printer hardware has improved drastically over the years, becoming both easy to use and reliable. However, the printing software that accompanies them has hardly changed at all. One user still does all the setup, and is relied on for printing all of the designs. The opportunity for interested and capable students to learn and grow from the act of printing itself is limited, and printing programs break teachers down when they’re the sole user expected to keep things up and running.
The Polar Cloud offers a scalable solution, having been built with K-12 schools, universities, libraries, and makerspaces in mind. Sign in, connect your printer in seconds, and enjoy remote printing, tiered member access, automated print notifications, timelapse video, fundraising features, and more.
The web-based slicer runs in the browser, so any student can sign in on almost any device, without the need for proprietary slicing software to get involved in the printing process. Export designs straight from Tinkercad, and submit them to the school’s printers in a matter of moments. Students can follow along remotely on the printer’s camera, and get updates as their print nears completion.
Delivery information: Each school requires one (1) annual license to use the Polar Cloud with unlimited printers and user accounts. Contact information for the account administrator will be needed so the activation code can be sent electronically.
