The Citrate surface is stable and displaceable for easy functionalization with silica, DNA, and antibodies. The PEG surface offers high stability, compatibility with some alcohols, and biocompatibility. The Carboxyl surface can be used for conjugation to proteins, antibodies, and other biomolecules via EDC/NHS chemistry.

All gold nanorods from nanoComposix are CTAB-free and provided in water. Many gold nanorods available commercially are coated with cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), a common surfactant used during nanorod synthesis. CTAB coated nanorods are toxic in biological systems and are readily destabilized when transferred to different solvents. NanoComposix’s gold nanorods are CTAB-free and highly purified to remove residual reactants following synthesis. Gold nanorods have used in optical filters, rapid diagnostics like Lateral Flow Immunoassays, sensing and biosensing devices, photothermal therapies, and many other applications.

Each batch is extensively characterized to meet highest quality standards, ensuring reliable and reproducible results. All products supplied with batch-specific COA's with TEM, DLS, Zeta, and UV-Vis.
