Visualize chirality.
- LED light source
- Wavelength, 589 nm
- Optical rotation measurement accuracy: ±1°
The concept of chirality can be difficult for students to visualize. Go Direct® polarimeter provides a visual representation of this concept by measuring the optical rotation of optical isomers such as sugars, amino acids, and proteins. It is simple to use, includes free, downloadable experiments, and is supported by the free Vernier Instrumental AnalysisTM app.
Its unique vertical layout and lack of custom glassware make this polarimeter very student friendly. In addition, the analyzer is automatically rotated by an internal motor giving students more time to understand experiments such as the reaction kinetics of HCl and sucrose. LED makes it ideal for comparing optical rotation values to those in literature, allowing students to calculate specific rotation for sucrose, fructose, and other optically active samples. Students no longer have to determine the optical maximum with their eye - they now have a graph that shows a clear change in the light's polarization.
The robust rechargeable battery offers long battery life and provides always-ready operation when using the sensor wirelessly. Should the battery run low, simply connect the sensor to the charging cable and keep on collecting - No interruptions or inconvenience to you or your students. It connects directly to your mobile device, ChrombookTM, or computer using the free Vernier Instrumental AnalysisTM app - no additional equipment or software purchases are necessary. It connect via USB or wirelessly via Bluetooth® wireless technology, allowing you to choose the best solution for your laboratory.
