- Vectors That Are Highly Expressed in Mammalian Cell Lines for Animal Imaging Studies
- Two selectable marker options for creating stable mammalian cell lines
- Luciferase-expressing cells are used in animal models to study in vivo changes in cell physiology
- Firefly luciferase expression is driven by CMV promoter
The pGL4 Luciferase Reporter Vectors are the next generation of reporter gene vectors optimized for expression in mammalian cells. Numerous configurations of pGL4 Vectors are available. The pGL4.50 and pGL4.51 Vectors offer the synthetic firefly luciferase luc2 gene under the control of the strong constitutive CMV (cytomegalovirus) promoter. These vectors have demonstrated high expression levels in a variety of cell lines tested. The addition of a selectable marker, either hygromycin or neomycin, also allows the creation of stable cell lines. Cell lines with constant expression of luciferase can be used in animal models to study in vivo changes in cell physiology.
