TGF beta R2 is a member of the TGF beta receptor subfamily and is a ser/thr protein kinase. TGF beta R2-induced protein phosphorylation plays a key role in signal transduction that leads to mitogenic responses. The TGF beta R2 receptor transmits signals from the cell surface to the nucleus and provides instructions for making transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta type II receptor. Mutations in TGF beta R2 gene have been associated with Marfan Syndrome, Loeys-Deitz Aortic Aneurysm Syndrome and the development of various types of tumors. ADP-Glo Kinase Assay is a luminescent kinase assay that measures ADP formed from a kinase reaction; ADP is converted into ATP, which is a substrate in a reaction catalyzed by Ultra-Glo Luciferase that produces light. The luminescent signal positively correlates with ADP amount and kinase activity. The assay is well suited for measuring the effects chemical compounds have on the activity of a broad range of purified kinases, making it ideal for both primary screening as well as kinase selectivity profiling.
