High purity, seamless thimble filters offered in 5 materials

Cellulose Fiber–Made from alpha cotton cellulose, these thimbles are suitable for Soxlet extractions of organic components and dust sampling. Lipid content: <0.1% wt.

Glass Fiber–Made of Borosilicate glass, these thimbles can withstand temperatures up to 500°C making them ideal for high temp. extractions or dust monitoring. They are acid resistant (except hydrofluoric). Thimbles have been acid washed for minimum trace metal content.

Silica Fiber(Quartz)–Made of pure quartz fibers, these thimbles can be used in temperatures up to 1000°C. Tapered for ease in loading into stack samplers. Heat-treated, Item 101102-460 is pretreated at 900°C for 4hrs to stabilize weight.

PTFE Fiber and PTFE/Silica Fiber: PTFE is inherently hydrophobic and non-absorptive with respect to acid gases. Negligible to no trace metal contamination. Durable and temperature- resistant.

Applications include analysis of fats, oils, grease, pesticides, pollutants, organics and addititives in plastics and rubbers.
