In Model A, two #11 Ace-Thred bushings, back to back, hold a threaded glass adapter (which has side outlet tube with hose barb) to the still head by compressing PTFE ferrules against the glass dispersion tube. The adapter then joins to the trap via [ST] 19/22 joints. Because of this feature, the dispersion tube depth is adjustable inside the trap, and the fritted end need not be in contact with caustic solutions. This will extend the life of the frit and assure consistent dispersion for a longer time. PTFE ferrules are supplied in place of FETFE o-rings for threaded compression fittings.

In Model B, the threaded glass adapter is eliminated, and the head connects directly to the trap via its top #11 Ace-Thred joint. In this case, an 8mm O.D. side outlet tube (rather than a hose barb, as is on the Model A adapter) is located on the trap itself. Since the dual bushings are still used, the dispersion tube depth remains adjustable.

Two different styles are available, Model A and Model B. Both include a 1000mL flask with a [ST] 24/40 joint center neck and a #7 Ace-Thred side port that permits variable depth positioning of the fill tube. The still head and cold finger have [ST] 29/42 top joints and the head has a [ST] 24/40 bottom joint and #11 Ace-Thred joint on the medium wall side arm. The fill tube has been reduced in diameter to retard “boil back,” or splattering, that occurs with conventional tubes.
